After a successful launch edition, The Big 5 Construct East Africa will return to Kenya to showcase local and international construction solutions at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre from 7 – 9 November 2018.
As the official exhibition of Kenya’s National Construction Week organised by the National Construction Authority (NCA), dmg events present The Big 5 Construct East Africa 2018. The event will showcase the top local and international construction brands, and will offer free access to industry leading education sessions.
Muhammed Kazi, Portfolio Director at dmg events comments: “We are excited to kick-off the second edition of The Big 5 Construct East Africa and to present the unique opportunity that Kenya’s Vision 2030 offers to the worldwide construction industry.” He adds, “The event will bring over 220 exhibitors from more than 20 countries for three days of business in Kenya, and with 42% of the country’s contractors based in Nairobi there is no better place than Kenyatta International Convention Centre to hold the exhibition.”
Exhibitors at the event from Qatar, Germany, Turkey, Greece, and Italy to name but a few will display the latest building innovations and solutions across the most prominent product sectors including: Building Interiors, Building Materials & Tools, Concrete & PMV, HVAC-R, and Building Services.
Presenting warehousing and storage racking systems at the event, Hellen Onyango, Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Bam Rack Limited / Akdeniz Storage Solution (Kenya/Turkey) comments: “Infrastructure development is a central pillar of Kenya’s Vision 2030 and with a fast-growing population and increasing demands for affordable housing, opportunities exist in the construction of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.”

More than just an exhibition, The Big 5 Construct East Africa will also bring together the industries’ pioneers to host over 40 free-to-attend and CPD (continuing professional development) certified education sessions.
The workshops will be curated by industry leaders including Nashon Okowa, Project Manager & Chairman at Association of Construction Managers of Kenya (ACMK), Bisrat Degefa, Head of Digital Engineering at Atkins Global and Emmanuel Maenda, Technical Solutions Associate at the Centre for Innovative Technology.
The Talks will cover popular topics under themes of Affordable Housing, Technology and Design in Building Construction, Project Management and Engineering, Sustainability in Construction including a dedicated series for Women in Construction.
Speaking on Renewable Energy in East Africa, Geoffrey Nagillah Makanga, Co-director and Principal of JASoL and Zeal Energy Limited (Kenya) comments: “Solar power is currently being admired across Africa and based on the position of Kenya on the equator we are in a prime position to enjoy this resource. We invite everyone to come to our talk better understand the market, its complexities, and the advantage that you can take out of solar energy.”

The successful launch edition of The Big 5 Construct East Africa in 2016 welcomed over 7,000 participants in 2016, hosted more than 150 exhibitors from 20 countries, and held 20 workshop sessions.
The Big 5 Construct East Africa 2018 enjoys backing from industry heavyweights including Kenya Federation of Master Builders (KFMB), Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), Town and Country Planners Association of Kenya (TCPAK), Women in Real Estate (WIRE), Kenya Investment Authority (KIA), Kenya Property Developers Association (KPDA), Interior Design Association of Kenya (IDAC) to name but a few.
Organised by dmg events, The Big 5 Construct East Africa is free to attend and will run from 10AM to 6PM daily at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (7 – 9 November 2018).
